Kid Rock may have been kidding about his joke run for Congress, but singer Joy Villa — best known for wearing a spangly “Make America Great Again” dress to the Grammy Awards in February — told Fox News she really is thinking about a Congressional bid. “I’m looking at Florida, I’m looking at California and I’m looking at New York, because these are all places I live and work and have grown up in,” Villa told Fox & Friends on Monday (Oct. 30).
“If I run, I’m going to win,” said Villa, 26, who was little-known before her Grammy red carpet strut. The singer — who has drawn attention in years past with outrageous, often revealing Grammy red carpet outfits — saw her 2014 EP, I Make the Static, shoot up the charts after her 2017 Grammys stunt, rising to No. 1 on the digital rankings on iTunes and Amazon in the U.S and selling 15,000 copies in two days according to Nielsen Music.
