British soul singer Joss Stone will hit the road in North America beginning April 27 in Mashantucket, Conn. The trek comes in support of her new Virgin album, “Introducing Joss Stone,” due March 20.
“When I say, ‘Introducing Joss Stone,’ it’s like, ‘Finally, now they’ve given me the chance to actually create a piece of art, to create an album that has a start, a middle and a finish,'” Stone tells Billboard of the new album.
On street date, Stone will perform on NBC’s “The Today Show.” She says, “This is just music I hope will make people feel — that’s all it is. I just hope it will make an emotion happen in someone’s body when they hear it.”
“Introducing” is the follow-up to 2004’s “Mind, Body & Soul,” which debuted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
