Joss Stone and her boyfriend, Cody DaLuz, have welcomed their first child together, a girl named Violet Melissa DaLuz, on Friday (Jan. 29), the couple announced on Sunday (Jan. 31).
The two teased in a Facebook Live video over the weekend they had been making a little bun in the oven for the last nine months, and then up popped 3-day-old Violet in the video while matching her mother’s leaf-print outfit.
“She was breech, so I had to have a C-section, which was delightful,” the singer-songwriter joked. “Totally worth it. … She’s beautiful and we love her.”
DaLuz revealed that although the couple didn’t know the sex of the baby until she finally arrived, he “just had a feeling” from the moment Stone had her first ultrasound that they would have a girl.
The Grammy- and two-time Brit Award-winning singer announced she was pregnant during an Oct. 4-dated episode of her A Cuppa Happy podcast. “Guess what? I am going to have a little baby! I am so excited to talk to you because I don’t know many pregnant women,” she told food blogger Ella Mills at the time. “I am week 17 and I just stopped being sick all the time.”
She recently made her The Late Show debut late last month to perform “Walk With Me.”
