Are you thinking of underestimating Josh Groban’s comedic timing? Well, we’ve got a warning for you: never underestimate Josh Groban’s comedic timing. The operatic singer has a way with a special guest appearance, and he proved that on The Muppets last night (Sept. 30).
Appearing in the second episode of the new ABC Muppets reboot, Groban is the new flame for the newly single Miss Piggy. Kermit was a good guy and helped set his ex up with Josh, though the fact that single Miss Piggy was bugging the whole cast certainly helped. They get together after collaborating in a performance Kermit arranged, but in an unfortunate twist of fate, things go south and Piggy gets annoying again, and Kermit has to un-matchmake the pair.

Josh didn’t get much screen time in the episode (which also featured Jay Leno and Laurence Fishburne), and unfortunately for Groban fans, it appears the breakup means he will not be a regular in the new show. Miss Piggy’s gotta have her space.
This wasn’t the first time Josh Groban collaborated with the Muppets. Earlier this year, he and Lindsey Stirling covered the Willy Wonka song “Pure Imagination” in a very Muppety video.
