Jon Stewart officially retired from hosting The Daily Show in 2015, but that doesn’t mean he’s just kicking back and doing nothing. In fact, Stewart recently stepped in as drummer for New Jersey band No Wine For Kittens on their new single “Catastrophes,” a benefit for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
New Jersey-based indie label and music blog Speak Into My Good Eye recently held its fourth annual “24 Hour Songwriting Challenge,” with the proceeds from each song going to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Last year, Stewart told TMZ that he’d taken up drumming as a new hobby. “Drums, baby!” the comedian and actor told someone at TMZ on the streets of New York. “I’m pickin’ up drums! Eight months in.”
Jersey native Stewart ended up collaborating with the band through former member Andy Bova, who is the comedian’s drum teacher.
Stewart announced two HBO stand-up comedy specials in July, his first in 20 years.
