Five of the six rappers being promoted as part of Atlantic’s “Joint Chiefs” campaign will take the stage for a one-off concert Nov. 23 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem. Juvenile, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Trick Daddy and T.I. will be on hand for the event. Although originally slated to take part, Twista has dropped off the bill due to a scheduling conflict.
Atlantic labelmate Lil’ Kim will host in tandem with DJ Envy. Tickets are $25 and are on sale at the Apollo box office. Proceeds have been earmarked for Harlem’s Hope Leadership Academy and the Takalani Home for Children. In addition, the artists will sign autographs on the day of the show at Champ Sports in Harlem.
Atlantic created the “Joint Chiefs” campaign as a means to cross-promote fall releases from Fabolous, Trick Daddy and T.I., as well as a reissue of Twista’s breakthrough album, “Kamikaze.” Juvenile’s Atlantic debut will follow next year, as will Fat Joe’s next album.
“I’m behind this 100%,” T.I. recently told Billboard of the “Joint Chiefs” campaign. “It’s a great way to show support for each other and the label and also cover a lot of ground.”
