John Page, a 25-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry, has been named president of Philadelphia-based public assembly facility management firm Global Spectrum. Page had been a senior vice president at Global Spectrum, and has served as Global’s chief operating officer since 2004.
Global Spectrum operates more than 120 arenas, stadiums, conventions centers and performing arts centers throughout the world. The company is a division of the Comcast-Spectacor family of companies, and includes ticketing, concessions, and marketing firms in its portfolio.
“John has shown his tenacity for growing Global Spectrum in North America, primarily in managing arenas, stadiums and convention centers,” says Comcast-Spectacor president Dave Scott in a statement. “His enthusiasm for our company and this industry is contagious.”
Page joined the Spectrum in 1993 as an event coordinator. He was named vice president of event production in 1997 for Comcast-Spectacor Facilities, and was promoted to SVP in 1999. The former University of Southern California football player worked as an event coordinator from 1991 through 1993. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from University of Southern California in 1988 and a Masters of Science from USC in 1990.
Nearly 23-million people attended more than 15,000 events in Global Spectrum venues last year. Comcast-Spectacor also owns the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League; Ovations Food Services, a food and beverage services provider; New Era Tickets, a full-service ticketing and marketing product for public assembly facilities; Paciolan, the leading provider of venue establishment ticketing, fundraising and marketing technology solutions; Front Row Marketing Services, a commercial rights sales company, and Flyers Skate Zone, a series of community ice skating rinks.
