John Legend’s hotly-anticipated new album Darkness and Light has arrived.
The soul singer’s latest dropped at midnight across myriad digital music services. Produced by Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes), the LP features guest collaborations from the likes of Chance the Rapper, the Shakes’ Brittany Howard, and Miguel.
Mills describes the album as Legend’s “manifesto,” a record which “goes against the grain, boldly reminding us that though darkness is abound, it is the light that will ultimately push us forward.”

Legend discussed his new project during a Facebook Live event back in June. “I think it’s my best work yet,” he told viewers.
The 12-track recording clocks in at 45 minutes and contains the lead single “Love Me Now” and “Right By You (for Luna),” which Legend wrote for his young daughter.
It’s the followup to 2013’s Love in the Future, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Listen to Darkness and Light below.
