
Brooklyn’s Joey Bada$$ and D.C.’s Wale joined thousands on the streets of New York City and Baltimore, respectively, on Wednesday (April 29) as protests continue, following the death of Freddie Gray while in Baltimore police custody.
Wale Visits Baltimore High School After Riots: ‘My Heart Was Broken’
Wale, after speaking with local high school students, marched alongside them to Baltimore’s City Hall. Joey Bada$$ (as well as members of his Pro Era crew) joined Russell Simmons’ protest in New York’s Union Square, marching with protestors through the city in a show of solidarity with the citizens of Baltimore. He was spotted leading chants like “Who’s the deadliest gang? N-Y-P-D.”
