One month before its Jan. 15, 2013 release date, A$AP Rocky‘s “LongLiveA$AP” has hit the Internet in full. Soon after the album’s posse cut,”1 Train,” leaked Tuesday morning (Dec. 18), the entire album followed.
“And?” you’re probably asking. Yes, leaks are expected now, especially in rap. Maybe the impatience to listen to the rapper’s oft-delayed debut album reached its limit, or maybe it’s the race to be first. Either way, it stings a little more in A$AP’s case: while leaks normally happen a week or two ahead of release, the leak of “LongLiveA$AP” comes a month before.
Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Action Bronson and Big K.R.I.T. all stand their ground alongside A$AP Rocky on “1 Train.” Listen closely, and you’ll hear 17-year-old Joey Bada$$ throw in a mention of wanting to sign to Roc Nation and taking a meeting with Jay-Z: “Just got back to the block from a 6 o’clock with Jigga/ And I’m thinking ’bout signing to the Roc/ But my n*ggas on the block still is signed to the rocks.”
Is there a Roc Nation deal for Joey Bada$$ in the future?
