Joe Jonas is in on the joke. On Monday, the Jonas Brothers announced the release date of their upcoming fifth studio album, Happiness Begins, complete with an album cover featuring the three brothers lying poolside on their stomachs.
The snap almost precisely mimics the cover of 2009’s Lines, Vines and Trying Times — the band’s last full-length studio set before breaking up — and the Jonatics took notice.
“I guess they never got back up??” one eagle-eyed fan tweeted, leading Joe to hilariously respond on Tuesday (April 23). “Chillin.,” the middle JoBro wrote, retweeting the side-by-side comparison of the two pictures and causing the joke to go viral among the band’s rabidly loyal fandom.
There is one slight difference, though: In the ’09 cover, the JoBros are lying on their stomachs facing the camera with Joe in the middle, while Kevin Jonas takes a rare center spot on the new cover.
Happiness Begins will be the Jonas Brothers’ first album in more than a decade and is set to be released June 7 via Republic Records. Check out Joe’s quippy tweet below.
