There was action, drama and, of course, intense singing on an eliminations night of The Voice. Indeed, the contestants were singing for their reality TV lives.
After the votes were tallied, Team Blake’s Cali Wilson, Team Kelly’s Max Boyle and Team Gwen’s Joana Martinez fell into the drop zone. The trio would sing for the Instant Save that would determine the final spot. Two would go home, one would survive to sing another day.
Martinez found the apt song in “Superwoman,” originally a hit for Alicia Keys in 2007. The teenage Miami native was the superwoman as she held her nerve and impressed viewers with a powerful effort.
For Boyle and Wilson, it was the end of the line. “Superwoman” wins the day.
