Rapper Jim Jones has joined the independent label Koch Records as VP of Urban A&R. Jones will be responsible for signing and developing new talent for Koch’s Urban Division.
“It feels good to know that the hard work has been recognized by the same people that have helped me get to this point in my career,” Jones said in a statement. “They recognize that I’m not only an artist but a person that can smell talent and be able to mould a superstar.”
Jones was previously director of A&R at Warner Music Group. Jones also released his last three albums, “On My Way to Church,” “Harlem: Diary of a Summer” and “Hustler’s P.O.M.E.” via Koch Records. In 2007, Jones signed to Columbia Records where he is now prepping his fourth solo album, which is loosely slated for spring 2009.
