Jesus Lara has left his post as Senior Vice President of Music and Talent/Artists Relations for MTV Networks/Latin America and U.S. Based MTV Tr3s. Lara’s last day was today (July 29). He leaves the company after seven years to pursue “entrepreneurial interests.”
Lara was most recently involved in the development and production of a series of “MTV Unplugged” specials with artists like Zoe and Camila, culminating with a performance from regional Mexican icons Los Tigres del Norte that was shot earlier this year. The subsequent album on Fonovisa topped charts in both Mexico and the U.S.
Following Lara’s departure, another MTV veteran, Marc Zimet, will take over as VP/Music & Talent for MTV Latin America and Tr3s. Zimet, based in Miami, will report to Fernando Gaston, SVP Content for MTV Latin America, and to Charlie Singer, SVP Production and Programming for Tr3s.
