New Jersey’s biggest stars are coming together on Wednesday night (April 22) to help the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, and raise money to benefit the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on some of the Garden State’s most vulnerable communities.
The event will feature appearances and performances from Halsey, Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, SZA, Charlie Puth, Saquon Barkley, Tony Bennett, Danny DeVito, Whoopi Goldberg, Chelsea Handler, Kelly Ripa, Jon Stewart and more.
Additionally, in a particularly special tribute, the remaining members of Fountains of Wayne will reunite for their first live performance in seven years to pay tribute to their late band member Adam Schlesinger, who passed away earlier this month due to complications from COVID-19. Sharon Van Etten will join the band to fill in on bass and backing vocals.
Bon Jovi called in to Zane Lowe on Apple Music to tease the event: “My hero, my friend, Bruce, signed on quick and then we got Tony Bennett, which blows my mind. Then, we’ve got a bunch of stuff. Charlie Puth is a local. He grew up right across the river here. We got SZA, who’s a Jersey girl, and Halsey, who’s a Jersey girl. And then, of course, a lot of great actors from DeVito to Chris Rock to Whoopi and on and on and on. So it’s just a one-hour telethon to benefit our neighbors.”
The event will air at 7 p.m. EST on Apple Music and AppleTV apps worldwide and broadcast live and rebroadcast five times on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio (currently free on the SiriusXM app) and carried on WABC Channel 7, WPVI 6ABC, WPIX, News12, NJTV and local radio outlets including 1010 WINS, WCBS 880, CBS-FM, WFAN, New York’s Country 94.7, Alt 92.3, Q104.3 and others. Social media posts will also be shared with the hashtag #jersey4jersey.
