Jennifer Lopez and Shakira brought the Latin girl power to the Super Bowl stage in Miami on Sunday (Feb. 2), putting on one of the most energetic and jam-packed halftime performances.
Following their big show, JLo celebrated at JR and Loren Ridlinger’s yacht party, according to TMZ, and grabbed the mic for a touching speech shouting out the moms who do it all.
“I was happy to stand up there with Shakira. Two women, two working moms who did one of the best Super Bowls of all time,” Lopez noted, to which everybody in attendance shouted in agreement.
Lopez and Shakira are two well-known working moms, with Shakira sharing sons Sasha and Milan with longtime boyfriend Gerard Piqué, and JLo raising twins Max and Emme, the latter of which joined her mom onstage for a performance of “Let’s Get Loud.”
“I know how special it is to go out there and hold up an American flag and hold up a Puerto Rican flag and have my daughter sing with me, and to represent women and single moms and working moms,” Lopez continued. “This is what you can do, you can do anything you want to do. That’s what I want to teach my daughters, that’s what I want them to see, that’s what I want them to become. Strong, independent women who speak up for themselves and that message tonight was use your voice, get loud.”
