So what is Jeff Goldblum’s plan after his debut release The Capitol Studios Sessions went No. 1 on the Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums charts last year? Release another one.
The actor-musician-fashion icon is recording historic duets with Sharon Van Etten, Fiona Apple, Anna Calvi, Inara George, Gina Saputo and two more special, unannounced vocalists for his upcoming record I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This, due for global release Nov. 1 via Decca Records. Goldblum’s longtime accompanying band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, worked on the record with him at Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood.
“I’m crying with ecstasy over this new album. Creatively, I’m happy as a clam. This collection of cohorts (cream of the crop), with whom I get to cavort, is outa this cosmos,” he wrote in an enthusiastic press statement. “Ouch, my crackling cranium! I’m crowning!!!”

The multihyphenate accompanied Van Etten on Irving Berlin’s “Let’s Face the Music and Dance,” a croon-worthy 1936 classic revitalized with a jazzy spin. Goldblum’s vocals will be in full swing for the record, as he covers Frank Sinatra’s 1954 classic “Don’t Worry ‘Bout Me” with Apple, Sonny & Cher’s 1967 No. 6 hit “The Beat Goes On” with George, plus more seminal tunes.
The album artwork for I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This takes place in Sinatra’s backyard, where Goldblum is playing a white baby grand piano on a floating stage within a piano-shaped pool.
