Roc Nation president Jay Brown has withdrawn from the In The City music conference, where he was due to make a keynote appearance today (Oct. 13).
In The City is an annual music conference and festival in Manchester in the U.K., which runs Oct. 13-15.
Brown was to appear in conversation with Epic Records U.K. managing director Nick Raphael.
“It is with deep regret that I have had to pull out of speaking at In The
City to return to the U.S.A. at very short notice to take care of a serious matter concerning my family,” Brown said in a statement.
“I would like to express my deepest apologies to everyone involved with In The City and to those delegates attending the event. All I can say is that I was truly looking forward to attending and speaking at an event focused on emerging music and talent, this held great appeal to me on a personal level.”
Brown said he has offered to speak at next year’s event.
