Jason Iley is the new head of Sony Music U.K.
The former Roc Nation president and one-time Mercury Records U.K. chief has been named CEO of Sony Music’s activities in the U.K. and Ireland, filling the void left by the departure of Nick Gatfield.
London-based Iley will oversee all of Sony Music’s frontline labels in the region, including the U.K. operations of Columbia, Epic and RCA. He reports to Sony Music CEO Doug Morris and to Sony Music International chairman/CEO Edgar Berger, and will work closely with Sony Music COO Nicola Tuer.

“Jason has played a critical role in developing global hits for some of the biggest artists in the industry over the last decade,” comments Morris in a statement. “We couldn’t be happier to have him leading our team in the U.K.”
During a 15-year career with Universal Music U.K., Iley held senior executive posts at Polydor and Island and was named Mercury president in 2005, Last June, Roc Nation Records named Iley as its president, working with a stable of artists including J. Cole, Rita Ora, Jay Electronica and Bridget Kelly,
