Couple Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks have taken their relationship to the next level: the studio.
“It could get kind of ugly in there sometimes but we made it happen,” Derulo told MTV News. “We kind of butt heads in the studio, a little bit.”
But he says the singers were able to put aside their “control freak” studio tendencies to complete some new music.
“We did a few songs together,” he said. “One will be on her album, one will be on mine.”
Derulo’s follow-up to 2011’s “Future History” has been delayed by a 2012 neck fracture and is expected later this year, though the set has neither a title nor a release date so far. He gave fans the first taste of the new album on Tuesday with single “The Other Side.”
Sparks most recently contributed material to the “Sparkle” soundtrack, a film in which she starred with the late Whitney Houston. The duo duetted on the soundtrack’s single “Celebrate,” which Houston recorded shortly before her 2012 death.
