Following yesterday’s introduction to the full cast of Suicide Squad, fans now are getting a first look at Jared Leto‘s highly anticipated turn as The Joker in the film.
Director David Ayer tweeted a pic of Leto (with green hair, but sans make up) behind a camera, in what appears to be an homage to the cover of Alan Moore’s 1988 classic Batman comic The Killing Joke.
“The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character — that’s what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right?” the 30 Seconds to Mars singer told Billboard about what drew him to the role. “This beautiful disaster of a character — what a big challenge.”
