UPDATE: After a grainy, handheld version of the Suicide Squad trailer hit the Internet (see below), Warner Bros. decided to take matters into its own hands and release the official version on YouTube Monday afternoon. Check out the proper, high-fidelity trailer below, along with some words of wisdom from director and co-writer David Ayer. And if you’re still craving that rowdy Comic-Con audience reaction, check the original further down.
As we used to say in the #Navy stand-by to stand-by. We’re gonna make it right.

PREVIOUSLY: Suicide Squad won’t be out for over a year, but we’ve got some brand-new footage of Jared Leto in the role that he was born to play. A new trailer for the superhero flick was shown at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend and someone inside leaked it to the internet.

It’s shaky quality, but we think the bootleg sketchiness actually complements much of the footage. Plus, you get to hear the audience reaction when Leto appears at the end and spouts a very Joker-y line in the final seconds:

Along with the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman, Will Smith and Cara Delevingne will also star in the film. It’s directed and co-written by David Ayer, and is expected to hit theaters Aug. 5, 2016.
