The entire track list of <a href=”/articles/news/international/8239706/tm-network-tetsuya-komuro-guinness-world-records”>Tetsuya Komuro</a>’s comprehensive song collection has been announced.
Tetsuya Komuro Archives, set for release June 27, will encompass the complete works of the celebrated musician, producer, composer and lyricist’s career in two packages: “T” and “K.” Both versions will feature 50 tracks each, and a mail-order-only box set containing both versions plus a bonus disc will also be released.
Eighty songs on the collection had already been announced, featuring many of his smash hits for artists including <a href=”/music/Namie-Amuro”>Namie Amuro</a>, TRF, <a href=”/music/Misato-Watanabe”>Misato Watanabe</a> and his own groups <a href=”/music/TM-Network”>TM Network</a> and Globe.
The remaining 20 tracks are songs by top idol singers from the ’80s and ’90s and actresses that many people probably didn’t realize were created by Komuro. The names on the newly announced list include Seiko Matsuda, Akina Nakamori, Kyoko Koizumi, Miho Nakayama, Chiemi Hori, Yukiko Okada, Riho Makise, Rie Miyazawa and Arisa Mizuki.
Famous male artists are also on the roster including veteran enka singer Shinichi Mori, iconic pop singer <a href=”/music/Hiromi-Go”>Hiromi Go</a> and <a href=”/music/Ryuichi-Sakamoto”>Ryuichi Sakamoto</a>, displaying the breadth of Komuro’s influence over the course of decades in mainstream Japanese music.
Many prominent songwriters are listed as collaborators on the album as well, including <a href=”/music/AKB48″>AKB48</a> creator Yasushi Akimoto, famed lyricist Takashi Matsumoto of the influential band Happy End, and producer Masataka Matsutoya. Rare tracks from the early days of Komuro’s career will also be included in the collection.
A leading track from the album, “My History” by former AKB48 singer Ayaka Umeda, was released Wednesday (June 13).
