Japanese guitarist <a href=”/music/MIYAVI”>MIYAVI</a> made his runway debut in Paris on Jan. 18 for the Yohji Yamamoto 2018-19 Fall/Winter menswear collection.
The 36-year-old musician hit the catwalk rocking a number of the designer’s new looks, adding runway modeling to his growing list of accomplishments. Known around the world for his virtuoso finger-slapping guitar playing, MIYAVI has previously ventured outside of music with a couple of Hollywood movie roles already under his belt.
“Such an honor to wear creations of #YohjiYamamoto the Japanese fashion maestro who keeps creating for over 40 years,” the guitarist wrote on Instagram. “Not only style, that’s an attitude. Mad respect.”
On another photo of himself being dressed by the designer, he captioned, “The moment I felt his soul.”
MIYAVI will embark on his seventh world tour in March. After 11 domestic performances, he’ll travel to Seoul, Singapore, Taiwan, Shanghai and Beijing, then return to Japan for the final show April 12 at Zepp Tokyo.
