The “Mi Gente” singer performed in Japan for the first time last summer at the annual Summer Sonic music festival, where m-flo’s VERBAL suggested they work on the theme song together. A known fan of Japanese popular culture, Balvin readily accepted the offer and the collaboration took off from there.
The movie HUMAN LOST is a sci-fi reinterpretation by Polygon Pictures of Japanese novelist Osamu Dazai’s classic novel from 1948 called Ningen Shikkaku (“No Longer Human”). Watch the teaser below:
A preview screening of the animated film supervised by Katsuyuki Motohiro (PSYCHO-PASS) and directed by Fuminori Kizaki took place at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles on Friday (July 5), where the director, starring voice actor Mamoru Miyano and m-flo appeared as featured guests.
m-flo also performed at the OTAQUEST LIVE in L.A. alongside J-pop star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and CAPSULE over the weekend. The group’s latest song, “against all gods,” is currently being featured as the ending theme of the animated series Black Clover, and the trio has performed in various U.S. anime conventions in the past, including Chicago’s AnimeCentral and KawaiiKon in Hawaii.
HUMAN LOST will be released in October in the U.S. and November in Japan, featuring a theme song by the same title by m-flo and J Balvin.
