The Japanese band LUNA SEA celebrated its 30th anniversary by inviting members of its fan club to join them for a free concert Wednesday (May 29) at Zepp Tokyo.
During the celebratory evening, the veteran visual-kei rockers informed the lucky fans who attended that the band’s highly anticipated 10th studio album is coming in December. World-renowned music producer Steve Lillywhite will be working with the five-member group on all of the songs as co-producer and mixing engineer.
Meanwhile, LUNA SEA had consistently self-produced all of its albums in the past, but decided to bring in a co-producer for this project, which will mark the band’s 30th year in music. The collaboration is a historic first for both parties involved.
Fans can get a taste of the miraculous joint project with the band’s latest single, “Sora no Uta – Higher and Higher / Hisoubi.” Both songs on the double-A single are featured as the opening themes of the animated series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin – Advent of the Red Comet.
