The influential Japanese pop band KIRINJI will release their 13th studio album, called Ai Wo Arudake, Subete on June 13. The album commemorates the 20th anniversary of their major label debut and will be the group’s first new album in two years.
The title that can be roughly translated as “All the love that I have” was taken from the last line of the lead single, “Jikan Ga Nai” (Japanese for “There’s no time”). Combined with the cover artwork of what appears to be a pared-down representation of a couple by the contemporary Japanese artist Teppei Soutome, the new album presents a clearer message unlike the group’s previous works featuring mostly numbers or simple English words and phrases as titles.
The album will contain nine tracks including the two lead singles: “AI No Tohiko” (featuring Charisma.com) and “Jikan Ga Nai.” Produced by leader Takaki Horigome, the band’s signature melodic, urban pop sound unfolds through a colorful blend of live and programmed music.
The members of KIRINJI were the inaugural curators of the pop-up shop in Billboard Cafe & Dining located inside the new Tokyo Midtown Hibiya building in central Tokyo that opened in March. The group is scheduled to hold a talk show and autograph session there on June 24, kicking off a new series of live events entitled MY TUNE, MY TIME, MY TALK featuring various popular artists. All five members will be present to discuss the production of the group’s upcoming new album and their intent behind the pop-up shop selections, as well as answering questions from the audience.
