Japanese singer and dancer <a href=”/music/Daichi-Miura”>Daichi Miura</a> released the cover art and tracklist for his new album, Kyutai, set to drop on June 27. See the artwork below.
“Kyutai” means “sphere” in Japanese, and the simple cover art features repeating black shapes like globe gores on a white surface. The album will contain 17 tracks, many of them crowned with titles evoking mathematical and scientific imagery including “Enkan” (torus), “Nou” (bursa), “Houshi” (spore), “Tekka” (fasciation) and “Crater.”
Along with a new artistic monochrome photo of the singer, a few lines from the first song on the album, “Joshi” (preface), has also been revealed as an introduction to the work: “Looking back at my life so far/ It’s been like a single boat floating on the vast sea/ Compensation earned from hard work/ Protects me from the wind and the waves.”
The new album is a part of a new project linked with a series of nine live solo performances starting in Tokyo on May 25 and ending in Nagoya on June 27. The DVD and Blu-ray versions of the CD package will include original footage of this solo performance interpreting the world of his new album.
The 30-year-old performer will also release a new live DVD/Blu-ray capturing the Nippon Budokan concerts wrapping up his 20th anniversary tour from 2017.
