J-pop vocal and dance group Da-iCE (pronounced “dice”) kicked off their domestic tour promoting their first greatest hits album Sunday (June 9) at Niigata Prefectural Civic Center.
The sold-out venue buzzed with excitement before the show began, as fans waited in anticipation for the five members to appear. The crowd erupted with screams and applause when the band took the stage to perform a special set packed with the familiar numbers featured in their latest collection of hits.
Main vocalist/performer Sota Hanamura hyped up the audience as members wowed with their vocal finesse and seamless choreography. Among the tracks old and new included in the set that reflected the band’s six-year history, two were performed live for the first time: “Ichitasuichi,” currently featured as the June theme of the Japanese morning news show SUKKIRI, and “TIME COASTER.”
As a group dedicated to its fans from the very beginning, Da-iCE — comprised of Hanamura, vocalist/performer Yudai Ohno, performers Toru Iwaoka, Hayate Wada, and Taiki Kudo — also made sure everyone in the audience felt welcomed.
All members took time to interact with fans over the course of the evening, including a pre-planned social network game during their sweet mid-tempo love song “Issho no Onegai.”
Da-iCE will make stops in 25 cities in Japan for a total of 31 concerts for its BEST TOUR 2019 domestic trek, wrapping up Oct. 22 at the Sendai Sun Plaza Hall in Miyagi.
