Janice Min has been named editorial director of the Hollywood Reporter, sister publication of Billboard, parent company e5 Global Media announced Wednesday morning.
“Janice dramatically transformed the landscape of entertainment journalism,” said Richard Beckman, CEO of e5, to whom Min will report, “and she is perfectly suited to lead The Hollywood Reporter’s business-to-influencer coverage of the global entertainment industry.”
Min, who will be based in Los Angeles, begins in mid-June.
Min left Us Weekly in July of 2009 after a seven-year stint at the publication. She served as a second in command to Bonnie Fuller before taking on the top job in 2003, presiding over a time of continued revenue and circulation growth for the brand. She has received numerous awards for her stewardship of Us Weekly, including Adweek’s “Editor of the Year” honor in 2005.
Prior to Us Weekly, Min worked as a staff writer at People, and also served at Life and In Style magazines. She began her career as a newspaper reporter in Westchester County, NY.
