YouTuber and Janet Jackson superfan Lamont Hicks posted a tribute to the victims of the Orlando massacre on Monday, set to Jackson’s socially conscious song “Shoulda Known Better” from her 2015 album Unbreakable. On Tuesday (June 14), the singer herself shared the video on Twitter with her own message of remembrance.
“You’ll never be forgotten,” she wrote alongside the video.
As Janet sings “Why, why, why?,” photos and names of the slain flash across the screen. Hicks bookends the clip with a Barack Obama speech on gun control.
