Donald Trump’s comment is Janet Jackson‘s gain.
After Trump referred to his opponent, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, as a “nasty woman” during Wednesday night’s final presidential debate, streams of Janet Jackson’s 1986 hit “Nasty” spiked 250 percent on Spotify, the streaming platform has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The song from Jackson’s album Control has also been featured in a mashup with Trump’s insults from the debate. Watch the video below:
Michael Moore, Chelsea Handler, Seth Meyers and Chloe Grace Moretz were among those who took to social media to slam Trump’s name-calling. “He’s not even hiding his sexism,” Moretz tweeted. Handler sarcastically noted, “Nobody respects women as much as he does.”
The comment was made when moderator Chris Wallace asked the candidates about their policies for debt and entitlements. Speaking on her commitment to raise taxes on the wealthy, Clinton said, “My social security payroll contribution will go up, as will Donald’s, assuming he can’t figure out how to get out of it.” Trump was quick to interject: “Such a nasty woman.”
