Jamie Foxx‘s model and actress daughter Corinne Foxx has been selected as Miss Golden Globe 2016 for the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Tuesday (Nov. 17).
HFPA President Lorenzo Soria made the announcement at an HFPA’s first party of the 2016 Golden Globe Awards season, held at Ysabel West Hollywood. It’s tradition that the Miss or Mr. Golden Globe honoree is the daughter or son of one of a respected leader in the film industry and assists during the Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
“We are delighted to have Corinne Foxx continue the tradition and have her as our 2016 Miss Golden Globe,” said Soria. “Like her father, she leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”
Corinne Foxx was first introduced to the public eye when her father took her as his date to awards shows in 2013 around Django Unchained. She recently shot a campaign for accessory line Icing and is a senior at the University of Southern California.
“Throughout the years I’ve grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor,” said Corinne Foxx. “I’m honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he’s been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments.”
Rumer Willis, Freddie Prinze, Jr., Laura Dern and Melanie Griffith have all been named Miss or Mr. Golden Globe previously.
The 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live Jan. 10, 2016, on NBC at 8 p.m EST from the Beverly Hilton Hotel with host Ricky Gervais.
