Super spy James Bond may not be the first character that comes to mind when you think of Broadway’s song and dance, but according to a report from Playbill, the iconic figure is soon going to be taking the stage in James Bond: The Musical.
‘Frozen’ Musical Is Headed to Broadway
Producer Merry Saltzman, whose father Harry produced the first Bond films, has secured the rights to bring 007’s exploits to Broadway to Las Vegas, with the opening tentatively scheduled for late 2017 or early 2018 (plenty of time to brush up on your martini-making skills).
James Bond: The Musical will have a book by author Dave Clarke and score by country (yes, country) singer/songwriter Jay Henry Weisz. Whether Bond will be line-dancing remains to be seen, but producers promise an original storyline and “our own Bond girl.”
