James Bay visited the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Wednesday (May 23), and paid tribute to his old friend Taylor Swift, who he opened for back on her 1989 world tour.
He stripped down her synth-heavy smash hit, “Delicate,” and turned it into a very Bay-esque guitar track, accompanied only by a drummer. After the bridge, the crooner seamlessly added a few lines from Drake’s “One Dance.”
“It’s a great song, it’s a beautiful song,” he told BBC host Clara Amfo. “When it comes to the Live Lounge, I’m looking for something that I can put my little twist on. This one connected with me.”
