Jack White had some extra time off in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (May 30), and decided to drop by the city’s Woodrow Wilson High School to surprise the students.
The White Stripes front man was in between shows at The Anthem in DC, having played on Tuesday with another scheduled for the night after. According to WTOP, White played a 45-minute set in the high school’s atrium for the seniors on their last day of classes. Only the school’s principal, Kimberly Martin, and one other official knew about the surprise, as White’s representatives reached out to Martin just days before the show.
In the video below, a swarm of students are seen dancing along to the famous guitar melody of “Seven Nation Army.” White will next appear at the Governor’s Ball Music Festival in NYC on June 1.
