So what was happening on the Real-Time Charts this week?
Ariana Grande released the official music video for her the Weeknd-assisted single, “Love Me Harder,” which sent the title back to the top of the Trending 140. OK Go dropped a highly choreographed drone-shot video for their track, “I Won’t Let You Down,” when held the No. 1 spot on the Trending 140 for 11 straight hours after its debut on Oct. 27.
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson caused a stir on the Twittersphere. A photo of him getting arrested on the set of “Night Changes” caused the unreleased track to become the second most-tweeted about song of the week.
But beating out both One Direction and Ariana Grande are Vine stars, Jack & Jack. They are two 18-year old Nebraska natives whose track “Wild Life” became the most tweeted about song for the week following its official music video release on Oct. 31. On this episode of Real-Time Rewind, the duo shares weird moments they’ve encountered on Twitter, as well as offer Joe Levy a few tips for “Let It Goat,” the popular mobile game they helped launch.
The Trending 140 chart measures the acceleration of conversation around artists and their music, while the Emerging Artists chart measures the volume of tweets around new artists and their songs.
