Taylor Swift’s open letter against Apple Music is making waves in the music industry.
The “Bad Blood” singer drew attention today when she penned an open letter on Tumblr criticizing Apple’s lack of royalty payment in its new service. “I’m not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months,” Swift wrote. “I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.”
Many in the music community are suiting up to take Swift’s side in this debate, including several of the indie artists she stuck up for in her letter. Here are some early reactions on Twitter:

easy to dismiss Taylor Swift’s letter re: @AppleMusic but haven’t heard anyone else talk with that much leverage. https://t.co/RIf2juGZOd

I liked Taylor’s letter to Apple, but I feel like if she was really committed, she would change her name to a symbol. http://t.co/traLkkbESu
