• Jack Johnson’s “Sleep Through the Static” stays put at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, holding court for a third straight week. The album sold 105,000 last week, down 42%. Alicia Keys’ “As I Am” spends a 15th consecutive week in the top three as the album lands at No. 2 this week. The last album to spend its first 15 weeks in the top three was Usher’s 2004 album “Confessions,” which spent its first 17 weeks locked in that region.
• The latest release in the “Kidz Bop” series — “Kidz Bop 13” — lands at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 49,000. This is the seventh consecutive title in the main “Kidz Bop” line to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. The run began with “Kidz Bop 7” back in 2005, when it debuted at No. 7. Overall, this is the 16th “Kidz Bop” title to chart on the Billboard 200. That tally includes three Christmas titles, a Halloween offering and a greatest-hits package. “Kidz Bop 13” features child-friendly interpretations of such pop hits as Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” Shop Boyz’s “Party Like a Rockstar” and Pink’s “Who Knew.”
• Chris Cagle crashes the Top Country Albums chart with his second No. 1, “My Life’s Been a Country Song.” The set also bounds in at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 — his first top 10 effort on the big chart … This week, the album’s lead single, “What Kinda Gone,” moves up from No. 11 to No. 9 on Hot Country Songs, giving him his first top 10 hit since 2003’s “Chicks Dig It” reached No. 5 … Jim Jones’ mixtape, “Harlem’s American Gangster,” bows at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 with 25,000. The set originally had a limited release last year, but has been remixed, remastered and bolstered with new tracks for this wide release. Jones is currently working on a new studio album, which is due this summer. It will be the follow-up to the 2006 album “Huster’s P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment),” which has sold 426,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
• A number of albums celebrate milestones this week … Nickelback’s “All the Right Reasons” (No. 48) has spent its first 125 chart weeks in the top 50 of the Billboard 200. The last album to do so was Shania Twain’s “Come On Over,” which spent its first 129 weeks lodged in the top 50. “All the Right Reasons” debuted at No. 1 in October 2005 and has sold 6.6 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan … Reba McEntire’s “Reba Duets” (No. 92) recently became the diva’s biggest-selling album in 12 years. “Duets” has shifted 1.3 million thus far — the most of any McEntire album since 1995’s “Starting Over” moved 1.4 million … At No. 24 on the Billboard 200, Jonas Brothers’ self-titled set surpassed the 1 million sales mark last week. The Hollywood album has yet to sell less than 15,000 in a week since its debut last August. The brother trio’s first album, “It’s About Time,” released on Columbia in 2006, has sold a paltry 62,000 in comparison.

• Gnarls Barkley and 3 Doors Down return to the Alternative/Modern Rock chart with the first singles from their respective upcoming albums. Gnarls’ “Run” bows at No. 35 while 3 Doors Down’s “It’s Not My Time” debuts at No. 38. Gnarls’ second album, “The Odd Couple,” will be released in April. The act’s first album, “St. Elsewhere,” scored two Modern Rock hits — “Crazy” (No. 7) and “Gone Daddy Gone” (No. 26). As for 3 Doors Down, their self-titled fourth studio album will be released May 6. On the Mainstream Rock chart, “It’s Not My Time” zooms from No. 37 to No. 14 in its second week, giving the act its 12th top 20 hit on that chart.
• Queen Latifah scores her first Adult Contemporary hit as “Poetry Man” bows at No. 30 this week. The song is a former top 10 hit on our Smooth Jazz tally. Latifah’s album “Trav’lin Light” (from which “Poetry Man” is lifted) has sold 225,000 since its release last October.
• Two of music’s heaviest hitters post solid debuts on Hot Country Songs with new singles from former chart-topping albums. Rascal Flatts opens at No. 42 with “Every Day,” the third track released from “Still Feels Good.” “Take Me There” topped the list for three weeks in the fall, while “Winner at a Losing Game” spent four weeks at No. 2. The new song is the band’s 29th chart hit, the most by a group this decade. At No. 48, Brad Paisley begins his quest for a seventh consecutive No. 1 with “I’m Still a Guy.” The light-hearted cut is the fourth single from “5th Gear,” following the No. 1s “Ticks,” “Online” and “Letter to Me.”
