After putting her musical career on hold back in November 2016 due to health issues, J-pop singer Eir Aoi returned with a bang by dropping a lyric video for her new song “Yakusoku” (“Promise,” in English) in February.
“I’ll keep the promise/ I’ll bring this song to you,” she sings in the new release, and true to her words, the singer known for various anime and video game theme songs including Fate/Zero, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE and Sword Art Online will be celebrating her comeback with a concert at the prestigious Nippon Budokan on Aug. 16.
The show will be her first solo headliner since her final concert before going into hiatus, held a year and nine months ago, also at the Budokan.
Following the digital release of her new single “Ryusei” (“Meteor,” in English) on Sunday (April 22), Aoi will reopen her official fan club, Eirland, at noon on May 7. Advance ticket sales for the Budokan concert will begin when the fan club starts for members only.
