J Balvin and Bad Bunny’s performances at the Super Bowl halftime show were long enough to make an impact that went beyond music and into fashion.
For Balvin, it was the coming out of his new Nike sneaker, a neon-rainbow-hued shoe with a pink-tinted sole that is the first collaboration between a Latin personality and Nike’s Jordan line, Billboard exclusively learned.
Beyond the footwear, Balvin stuck close to home, wearing black track pants and a black hoodie from his own merch collection, with the words “Made In Medellín” emblazoned on the front in Balvin’s trademark, colorful hues. Also on the hoodie: a flower with a smiley face in the middle. The design by Takashi Murakami was originally used as the cover of Balvin’s original Spotify podcast, “Made in Medellín.”
As for Bad Bunny, he went for the bling with a Last Heirs gray leather trench coat adorned with Swarovski crystals. Bad Bunny’s stylist tells Billboard the coat was custom-made in Berlin and has 13,000 stones lasered into the fabric. Bad Bunny’s shoes are also Nike: 1 of 1.
