K-pop girl group IZ*ONE released their first single of 2020 today (Feb. 17), “Fiesta.”
The festive synth-pop song was released through a celebratory music video that feels like a modern day take on the glam and glitz of the 1920s and updates it for the 2020s, offering up a party that simultaneously exudes elegance and over the top extravagance as the dozen members of IZ*ONE perform their dynamic song and impactful choreography.
Within 10 hours of its release, the music video for IZ*ONE’s “Fiesta” racked up over 4 million views on YouTube.
The single fronts the act’s BLOOM*IZ LP, which also arrived today. It features a total of 12 tracks, including several of which feature members of IZ*ONE credited as songwriters. BLOOM*IZ is their first LP, arriving two years after their 2018 debut single “La Vie En Rose.” The act was formed that year through Mnet television severies Produce 48.
The LP was previously set to be released in November, but the album was delayed due to uncertainty regarding the act’s future amid legal investigations into the way IZ*ONE and other K-pop teams were formed through the Produce competition show television series, ultimately resulting in several arrests and the disbandment of boy band X1.
