Italian videos were honored at the country’s annual indie label gathering, Meeting Etichette Indipendenti, held Nov. 27-28 in Faenza.
“Amore Impossibile,” directed by Lamberto Bava for the group Tiromancino, was voted Italian video of the year. The award for best independent video went to “Tell Me Marie,” directed by Mauro Lovisetto for One Dimensional Man.
Enrico Ruggeri won the video music prize for overall quality. Awards were decided by a jury nominated by the festival’s organizers.
This year marked the eighth edition of the MEI gathering. Organizers estimate that 25,000 visitors attended the two-day event, up from about 20,000 last year. A spokesperson says 300 exhibitors were present, compared with about 200 last time.
