The Police will headline the final day of the U.K.’s Isle of Wight Festival, to be held June 13-15 at Seaclose Park. Additional acts have yet to be announced.
The performance, which is being touted as the band’s only U.K. festival appearance for 2008, will anchor a new run of dates from the reformed rock trio. The itinerary starts Jan. 17 in Wellington, N.Z., and runs through June 28 in Leipzig, Germany.
The Police are presently touring in Mexico and will proceed to Argentina, Chile and Brazil in the coming days. A live DVD chronicling the reunion tour, which recently was named the top grossing and top ticket-selling outing at the Billboard Touring Awards, is expected to be released in the spring via Interscope.
