Just weeks after being nominated for a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “Holding You Down (Goin’ In Circles),” singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan might be quitting music… or not?
Sullivan took to her twitter recently to announce she would be taking a break from music because she isn’t having fun anymore (her words, not mine). The tweets were deleted just an hour later, but not before Vibe.com got screen shots of them. Here’s what Jazmine posted:
Jazmine Sullivan’s “Love Me Back” album sold 113,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan. That number doesn’t seem so terrible to me, especially since the album came out a little over a month ago, so, I’m hoping that’s not the reason for she’s not having fun these days.
I hope Sullivan finds a happy medium and not get indefinitely discouraged. That’d be a travesty, especially because she is such a talented singer and a true storyteller. Keep your head up, Jaz.
