Legendary music business manager and Azoff MSG Entertainment chairman/CEO Irving Azoff will take to the air beginning Wednesday (April 4) for the debut of his new SiriusXM talk show, Unmanageable.
The consummate dealmaker, record label boss and movie producer will host conversations with “some of the most influential people in the music business where they’ll dive into music’s past, present and future.”
The show will be featured on the all-talk Volume channel 106. The episode will play at various times throughout April.
Among the topics Azoff plans to tackle on the show are ticket prices and technology, artists’ rights, concert safety and the current state of live and recorded music. The debut episode will feature special guests Jon Bon Jovi, director/producer Judd Apatow and CAA head of music Rob Light.
“I am a big fan of SiriusXM. Jon, Judd, Rob and I had a great time and the conversation was so natural that we forgot we were being recorded,” Azoff said in a statement. “We ended up with an unscripted conversation that delved into a lot of issues — I am sure listeners will enjoy this ‘behind the curtain’ show.”
Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s president and chief content officer, said the chance to do an unscripted, free-form show with one of the most revered names in the music biz was irresistible.
“Unmanageable will be Irving being Irving — passionate, opinionated and questioning,” Greenstein said in a statement. “Listeners will get a front-row seat as Irving and friends talk about music today, as it pertains to the industry and to the average fan and listener. This is a show that was made for our SiriusXM Volume channel, the only fulltime talk channel on radio devoted to talking — and arguing — about music.”
