Independent digital distributer IODA has partnered with BounDEE, Japan’s largest distributor of independent music. Under the terms of the partnership, IODA will share in BounDEE’s relationship with more than 200 online music and mobile stores; similarly, IODA will also represent BounDEE’s independent artists and labels worldwide.
The partnership expands IODA’s reach in Japan, which currently includes relationships with several Japanese digital retailers including iTunes Japan. On the content side, IODA currently represents hundreds of Japanese independent labels as well as Japanese major labels such as Pony Canyon and Victor Entertainment to distribute select releases internationally. BounDEE will officially kick-off the new partnership next week with the release of USA for Africa’s We Are The World track to Label Mobile and other digital stores in Japan.
