Disney Channel will air versions of songs from “High School Musical 2” by international artists in a programming special to air January 18.
Seventeen renditions of the songs in various languages will be performed throughout the day, which Disney has programmed with a 16-episode marathon of “Hannah Montana” as a lead-in to an 8 p.m. showing of “High School Musical 2.” Highlights from the telefilm’s European red-carpet premiere also will be shown.
The songs being performed and the artists participating are: Argentina’s Fabiola and Delfina Pena performing “What Time Is It?”; “You are the Music in Me” performed by Argentina’s Valeria Gastaldi and Dani Martins, Brazil’s Thaigo Fragoso and Ituana Ciribelli, Italy’s Pquadro, Japan’s Nami Tamaki, Mexico’s Roger Gonzalez and Paulina Holguin, Norway’s Julia Geitvik and Lars Berteig Andersen, Spain’s MOTA and Turkey’s Kerecem; “I Don’t Dance” by Portugal’s Expensive Soul and Bianca; “Gotta Go My Own Way” by France’s Laam, Mexico’s Holguin and the Philippines’ Nikki Gil; “Bet on It” will be performed in Mandarin by Taiwan’s Show Lo; “Every Day” in Cantonese by Hong Kong’s Justin Lo and Kary Ng and “All for One” by Indian composer Shankar-Ehsaan-Law and Spain’s MOTA.
