Today (March 8) is International Women’s Day, and of course, women are celebrating all around the world. The day is meant to honor “the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women,” according to it’s official site, and with a year that has turned exhausting historical oppression into empowering movements like Time’s Up and Me Too, it seems as fitting as ever.
Female powerhouses like Tina Turner, Dua Lipa, and some of the Spice Girls have taken to their socials to highlight their pride. Check out all of the day’s celebrations below, and shout out to all of the other lovely, cool, smart and empowered women celebrating across the globe.

To be a woman is a beautiful thing. We have our challenges but we are brave, kind, calm & we roar. We stand side by side with our fellow men. Not better not worse , but together. Today we are reminded – the power of women that lights up the world. #internationalwomensday — pic.twitter.com/3kAGkIoIEz

In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, I want to celebrate some of the women and girls who inspire me every day.
These women resist inequality, insist on a better world, persist against all odds, and enlist others in our shared fights.
