Selena Gomez’s Selenators Lead Instagram’s Top 10 Fan Armies of 2016

We already know musicians have a huge impact on Instagram, with five out of the top 10 most-followed accounts on the photo-sharing site being musicians, but who has the most active fans?

Instagram compiled a list of the top fan armies, with the ranking based on the total global number of fan army mentions, either in captions or in comments on photos posted to Instagram this year. Selena Gomez’s Selenators topped the list, followed by Team Drake and Beyoncé’s Beyhive.

Many of those supporters share their admiration for an artist through Instagram fan accounts, many of which have built up a steady following of their own as other fans view them as reliable sources for updates on tours, new candid photos, throwbacks and the occasional relatable meme.
